Thai rescuers rescue a Burmese boy who fell into a well and was trapped for 16 hours

Overnight, Thai rescuers rescued a child from Burma who had fallen into a 42-foot-deep well near the border

between Thailand and Myanmar. On Monday afternoon, the 19-month-old daughter of a Myanmar migrant worker fell into a well that was one foot deep while she was playing.

When rescuers lowered the camera into the well, the boy was seen crying after being trapped in the well for 16

hours. To save the child, rescue teams of more than 100 individuals dug through the night, releasing oxygen into the well so the child could breathe.

On February 7, at 9:30 a.m. local time, rescue workers reached the child and were able to save it an hour later. The child will be examined for health at the hospital. This took place at the Thai-Myanmar border in Turk District.
