Asia’s tallest tree discovered

On June 15, staff from the Forestry and Grassland Department of Pomei District, Shizen (Tibet) in China entered the wild forests and discovered Asia’s tallest tree.
In the past year, the record for tallest tree in Asia has continuously set new records. In May 2023, the Biodiversity Joint Investigation Team led by Peking University found a 102.3-meter-tall Shizheng cypress tree in Shizheng Pomei County. It previously set a new record for the tallest tree in China and the tallest tree in Asia, according to China Media Group.
